In nearby Montredon Labessonnié are various eating places from take away pizza or paella to an à la carte night of eating. There is France’ s first observatory, a park, a riding centre and an array of shops meeting most basic shopping needs.

Castres, the local town offers even more places to eat and amuse yourselves, from art galleries to a water play centre. It is a genuinely unspoilt traditional French market town. There are river trips to be taken, tiny little shops to visit and giant supermarkets, plus a market four times a week.

Further a field (and not so a field!) there are all sorts of possibilities, mountain lakes, fishing, more walks, more cycling, more spectacular views, traditional toy workshops, adventure parks, dry slope skiing, the famous cathedral in Albi or the Toulouse Lautrec museum, the Black Mountains, skiing resorts are even a possibility at the right time of year, the coast, the medieval re-enactments in both Carcassonne and Hautpoul, you name, it’s there to be discovered.
